10 Tip Checklist
- Is the advisor registered with a professional licensing board such as FPSC or ADVOCIS.
- Is the advisor truly independent of any asset managers
- Does the advisor claim to try and time the market or is the goal to diversify across assets for the long term.
- Does the advisor have access to specialist analytical research for all major asset classes?
- Does the advisor have access to all asset classes stocks, bonds, GIC's, preferred shares, ETFs, hedge funds and mutual funds?
- Is your advisor licensed to provide life, disability and critical illness insurance advice?
- Does the advisor provide a written financial plan?
- Does the advisor provide an Investment Philosophy Statement?
- Does the advisor have at least 10 years experience?
- Is the advisor committed to reviewing your entire financial, retirement and estate plan?
